What is the InterNIC?
The InterNIC was a division of Network Solutions, and used to be the sole global registrar for all domain names ending in .com, .org, .net, and .edu. Now there are more than a few companies that can register your new domain names. We exclusively use BulkRegister.com for all domain names ending in .com, .net, and .org. Now all domain name registrars use what is called "The Shared Registry" to
determine which domain names are registered, and who they are registered with. If you choose a domain name that ends in one of these Top Level Domains (TLDs), it has to be registered with the InterNIC. The most common TLDs for businesses, organizations or personal sites are .net, .com and .org. All other TLDs, including foreign ones, have to be registered at their respective NIC. The registration process can take between 24 and 72 hours. Once the registration process is completed, you officially own your domain name and can use it for accessing your web site.
DomainMasters.NET can submit the initial registration or your transfer request (in case you are moving to us from another hosting company) at no extra charge. InterNIC charges $35 for registering and maintaining a new domain name for the first year. However,
DomainMasters.NET only charges $15.00 per year. After that, the registration can be renewed for $15 a year. These fees are included in our set up fees. For more information on the role of InterNIC, please visit the Verisign/Network Solutions web site at
